Today, natural and cultural resources are being depleted rapidly, however, effective conservation approaches cannot be exhibited. Existing resources are also faced with the danger of extinction as a result of incorrect land use and intensive use. In order to take correct and effective resource management and plan decisions, optimal land uses that aim to protect the ecological structure must be determined precisely.

Ecological planning is an approach based on the preservation of natural environment characteristics in planning studies. In the planning studies carried out at different scales for different purposes, this approach; It causes the formation of a scope that considers the protection-use balance of the planning, sustainable use of resources, ensuring continuity in use without the need for renewal, and that the planning can be improved.
